New
Diebel to lead public affairs for Iowa Business Council
Tuesday, November 17, 2020 3:01 PM
The Iowa Business Council
has named
Christopher Diebel
as its new director of public affairs. Diebel, who led the brand creation of the Des Moines restaurant Bubba as a founding partner four years ago, has extensive experience serving client organizations in the private and public sectors. He was previously managing director of public affairs at LPCA Public Strategies, and earlier in his career was director of marketing for Orchestrate Hospitality. In his new role, he will lead public relations and marketing initiatives for the IBC as well as assist the executive director in policy development and government relations efforts. “Chris’ communications and marketing background, combined with his business acumen, will serve the IBC extremely well as we continue to put forth solutions and policy recommendations that enhance Iowa’s economic vitality,” said Joe Murphy, IBC executive director. The IBC is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose 22 members are the chief executives of the state’s largest employers. Diebel has a journalism and mass communications degree and a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University. He was named by the Business Record as a Forty Under 40 member in 2008 and has been recognized as Best Up-and-Coming Business Leader.
