Clive-based Peoples Co. has a footprint in the Pacific Northwest after acquiring 50 percent of AgriBusiness Trading Group in Walla Walla, Wash. Peoples is a land brokerage, land management, land investment and appraisal services company that since its founding has branched out of Iowa to 20 states. AgriBusiness Trading Group specializes in sales, mergers and acquisitions of investment-grade agricultural assets. Earlier this year, Peoples led the sale of 6,000 acres of contiguous land in the Walla Walla Valley to a California company that specializes in converting traditional farms to organic operations. AgriBusiness Trading Group will continue to operate under its name in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. Peoples will provide AgriBusiness Trading Group access to its appraisal, brokerage, auction and land management platform, including its proprietary Land Management software, according to a release. The deal closed May 1. Read about Peoples’ earlier foray into the region at BusinessRecord.com.
