Age-friendly community planning forum scheduled
AARP Iowa and Governing magazine will host a roundtable forum on age-friendly planning on June 27 in Des Moines.
The by-invitation event, “Iowa: Creating Communities for All Ages,” is one of four statewide sessions that AARP will conduct across the country as part of an initiative to help communities better plan for an aging demographic.
Gov. Terry Branstad will participate in the forum, along with AARP Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond and Michael Lehrer, a Los Angeles architect.
Governing magazine’s editor-at-large, Paul Taylor, will moderate and facilitate the discussion.
The first forum was held June 7 in Lansing, Mich., and other roundtables will be held in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. For more information about the Iowa forum, contact Ann Black at AARP Iowa, ablack@aarp.org or (515) 697-1003.
