The Iowa chapter of the American Institute of Architects has elected its 2016 board of directors. Serving on the board from Greater Des Moines are Mindy Aust, associate at Substance Architecture, president; Nicole Becker, a senior at Iowa State University, president of the AIA Iowa student affiliate; Dan Drendel, principal at Slingshot Architects, director; Deborah Hauptmann, professor and chair of the ISU Department of Architecture, ISU representative; Danielle Hermann, associate principal at OPN Architects Inc., secretary; Tonia Householder, project architect at INVISION, treasurer; Kayla Ohrt, architectural graduate at BNIM, associate director; Matt Ostanik, architect and a technology entrepreneur, first vice president and president-elect; and Gary Van Dyke, a principal architect at Shive-Hattery Inc.in West Des Moines, second vice president.
