A new bar and restaurant is in the works for the East Village.

The 2,680-square-foot building at 419 E. Court Ave. is in the process of being converted into a bar.

Building owner David Moravek said AJ’s on East Court will feature high-end scotches, whiskeys, martinis and imported beers. He hopes to open the business this spring. Moravek estimates the remodeling of the building, which formerly housed a printing company, will cost him $200,000.

Two other phases of remodeling will take place after the bar is complete: a kitchen and a patio. Once all the remodeling is complete, Moravek said he plans on serving smaller meals such as tapas. The tavern will employ 10 people.
