Jamie Alt

The First Tee of Greater Des Moines has named Jamie Alt executive director. The international youth development organization, which teaches life skills and healthy habits through the game of golf, last year benefited more than 10,000 Central Iowa youth. Alt was previously The Principal Charity Classic tournament director for five years. He has also held positions with the Iowa Events Center and Special Olympics Iowa. He brings more than 10 years of experience in the golf industry combined with the skills of managing a nonprofit, said board president Luke Garnaas. Alt succeeds Jim Ballard, whose contract with the organization expired in December. The first fundraising event under Alt’s direction will be a downtown Des Moines tradition, The Skywalk Golf Classic.
