Ames-based printing company Sigler has announced the acquisition of another Ames printing business, Alpha Copies and its franchise business Fastsigns. According to a news release, the deal will be effective on July 1. Alpha Copies was started by John Crawford in 2005. Crawford died of cancer in February 2021, and his son, Eric Crawford, who is president of Fastsigns, said joining Sigler will allow his dad’s legacy to live on and take the businesses places “he could only dream of. We are excited about what this means for future growth and expansion.” Michelle Vogel, president of Sigler, said the merger will provide additional capabilities for all three businesses. “The idea of unifying Sigler with these two businesses built by the Crawford family came about very organically,” she said. “A lot of really energizing conversations over the past many weeks have brought us to this point. This opportunity will allow us to manage some of our smaller print runs more effectively, and to better serve our customers with needs in that space.”
