The U.S. Small Business Administration, along with state and local officials, will honor the city of Ankeny on Thursday for its support of small business startups and expansions. Ankeny was recently recognized during National Small Business Week as the SBA’s Iowa Small Business Community of the Year based on the city’s key programs and incentives to attract and retain small businesses, as well as its collaboration with other federal, state, county and local programs to benefit the small business community. The event will be held at 2 p.m. at agtech company PowerPollen LLC, which recently received financial assistance from the SBA’s Small Business Innovation Research program and the city of Ankeny’s revolving loan fund.
