Applicants named and process released for replacing retiring Justice Zager

114 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and Law, Statewide NewsTwenty-two people have applied with the State Judicial Nominating Commission to fill the vacancy on the Iowa Supreme Court that will occur when Justice Bruce Zager retires Sept. 3, according to a release. The commission will have a public meeting to interview the candidates on July 9, before winnowing the list to three names that will be submitted to Gov. Kim Reynolds. The interviews will be in the Iowa Supreme Court courtroom on the fourth floor of the Judicial Branch Building. The interviews also will be livestreamed and the videos archived for later viewing. A schedule will be posted here once it is established. In the meantime, the applications can be viewed here.
