Beaverdale Hy-Vee on a agenda
The Plan and Zoning Commission in Des Moines will take another crack at Hy-Vee Inc.’s conceptual plan and rezoning request for a Beaverdale location tomorrow.
The commission will discuss if the city should rezone six acres at 4444 Douglas Ave. for a new 63,880-square-foot grocery store.
The plan has been plagued with setbacks and opposition from the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association, which has raised concerns about increased traffic around a new store.
The West Des Moines-based grocery chain asked on Oct. 17 for a two-week delay in the consideration of its plan.
A revised conceptual plan will be reviewed at the meeting tomorrow.
