The city of Des Moines’ engineering department will recommend bid awards on three projects to the City Council today (Feb. 11):
- Sternquist Construction Inc. of Indianola was the low bidder to replace the Scott Avenue bridge over Leetown Creekway, at $473,632. Also bidding were Jenco Construction of Des Moines, Herberger Construction Co. Inc. of Indianola and Iowa Bridge & Culvert LLC of Washington, Iowa.
- Sheets Excavating Ltd. of Montezuma was the low bidder to construct the third segment of the American Discovery Trail, from North Valley Drive to the Bill Riley Trail along Walnut Creek, at $356,974. Also bidding were OMG Midwest Inc. (doing business as Des Moines Asphalt and Paving), Elder Corp. of Des Moines, Grimes Asphalt & Paving Corp. and Reilly Construction Co. Inc. of Ossian, Iowa.
- Venter Spooner Inc. of Des Moines was the low bidder to install a shade structure at the Gray’s Lake Terrace building, at $107,300. Also bidding were Bergstrom Construction of Des Moines and Munro Construction Inc. of Johnston.
