Blank Park Zoo announces first statewide art project

The zoo is seeking 20 Iowa artists to paint their designs on large-scale steel lion sculptures built by the zoo’s maintenance team. Artist submissions are open now on the zoo’s website, with completed works to be installed in April and displayed at locations across the state through Labor Day. The project will also coincide with the opening of the new Marjorie A. Foster Lion Conservation Center, which will triple the zoo’s lion habitat.
