About 210 acres of land have been identified for industrial development on the east side of Boone, according to a news release from the Ames Regional Economic Alliance.

In the release, officials said the identification and optioning of the site comes after Daisy Brands announced in 2024 that it would build a new manufacturing facility in Boone, a project that will use one of the city’s last available developed sites.

The newly identified site will be fully supported by essential infrastructure, including municipal water and sewer service from the city of Boone, electric and natural gas service from Alliant Energy and telecommunications provided by Ogden Telephone.

It is located at the intersection of Mamie Eisenhower Drive and 210th Street.

“The identification of additional industrial land has been one of our organization’s highest priorities since the Daisy announcement,” Cody Bowers, president of the Boone County Economic Growth board of directors, said in the release.

Terry Moorman, chair of the city’s economic development committee, said the site will create opportunities for “the next company to call Boone home.”
