Building permits issued for multifamily, other projects
Building permits were issued in September for 14 new projects in the Greater Des Moines area, including three multifamily projects in the city of Des Moines, a Business Record review shows.
The value of the new projects was estimated at over $68.6 million, the review of building permits from 13 communities and Polk County shows.
In addition, permits were issued for 23 tenant improvement or remodel projects and building additions, the review shows. The value of the projects was estimated at over $33.1 million.
Multifamily projects in Des Moines that were issued building permits in September include:
- Goldfinch Lofts, a three-story mass timber project at 3404 Ingersoll Ave. The project, being developed by Cutler Development, will include 28 apartments on the second and third floors and commercial space on the ground level. The permit valued the new building at $9 million.
- The Aston, a seven- and eight-story C-shaped apartment building at 603 E. Sixth St. The site is where the American College of Hairstyling had previously been located. The project is being developed by Heart of America Group. The permit valued the new building at $31.6 million.
- Telus Condominiums, a 32-unit project at 1310 Murphy St. The project is part of Gray’s Station, a $500 million community just south of downtown that is being developed by Hubbell Realty Co. The permit valued the new building at $6.3 million.
