Business Horizons early entry ends Tuesday

Iowa high school students can participate in Business Horizons 2018, a summer program that allows students to gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience, develop leadership and workplace skills, and much more July 15-19 at Central College in Pella. Applications can be found online atBusinessHorizonsIowa.com. Applications must be postmarked by May 15 to receive the $60 discount. After May 15, a $35 discount will be in effect until June 15. Applications will be accepted until July 9 or until the program is full. Students will work with a team to develop a product and launch a mock business while participating in competitions and challenges, including an investor pitch to a panel of volunteer business people and entrepreneurs. Students will also hear from expert speakers on topics like personal finance, participate in a business simulation, visit local businesses and take part in fun evening activities. Business Horizons also offers a Media Track for students interested in journalism and communications hosted by the Iowa Newspaper Foundation. New this year, a Technology Track is now available for students interested in web design/development, coding and computer science. All participants have the opportunity to earn college credit, as well as a scholarship to Central College.
