A coalition of multiple local and state partners have launched a campaign to bring the headquarters of Corteva’s seed business to Iowa when the company splits into two companies next year. On Oct. 1, Indianapolis-based Corteva announced it will split into two independent publicly traded companies: New Corteva, focused on crop protection and SpinCo, focused on seed development. Corteva’s seed business is currently based in Johnston. The Iowa Economic Development Authority along with partners including the city of Johnston, Polk County, the Greater Des Moines Partnership, the state of Iowa and America’s Cultivation Corridor are asking for individuals to sign a petition in support of bringing the headquarters to Iowa. An offshoot of Pioneer and once owned by Dow and DuPont, Corteva became a standalone company in 2019. The company is valued at $42.1 billion.
