About 350 community members and colleagues came together last week to celebrate Rick Tollakson, who retired from Hubbell Realty Co. after serving 22 years as its CEO. The reception, held March 26 at Des Moines Golf & Country Club, served as a joint retirement party for Tollakson, who was with Hubbell for 42 years, and longtime executive assistant, Laura Montgomery, who worked at Hubbell for 37 years. Kyle Gamble, who was named president and chief operating officer in 2025, will succeed Tollakson as CEO. Tollakson’s retirement was effective March 27.
