Central Iowa SBA-backed loans total nearly $9.5M in May
The U.S. Small Business Administration in May backed 11 loans totaling $9,468,500 for Central Iowa businesses.
Those 11 loans are expected to create 73 new jobs and retain 103 existing jobs. Central Iowa is defined as Polk, Story, Boone, Dallas, Madison, Warren, Marion, Jasper and Marshall counties.
Among the top loans in May by dollar value were:
- Mercurialis Holdings LLC, an existing accommodation and food service business in West Des Moines, $3,040,000.
- Willow on Grand LLC, an existing administrative and support business in Des Moines, $3,000,000.
- Systems Management & Balancing Inc., an existing construction business in Waukee, $1,400,000.
Statewide, the SBA backed 38 loans for $24,648,500 to Iowa businesses from participating lenders using its two largest lending programs.
The SBA 7(a) and 504 programs capitalized 16 new and 22 existing businesses that report creating 115 new jobs and retaining 320 jobs as a result.
