The city of Johnston has announced that Brooke Malloryis the city’s new human resources director. Her role began Tuesday. In her new role, Mallory will manage all human resources functions, including hiring, employee relations, training and benefits. Before coming to Johnston, Mallory was human resources manager for the city of Des Moines. In that role, she developed new onboarding and streamlined hiring processes. She has been an advocate for supporting leaders to improve performance management by aligning employee goals with the city’s objectives while providing feedback and development opportunities for staff. Mallory earned her bachelor of arts degree in communication studies from Iowa State University. She’s also working on her master’s degree in public administration at Drake University and holds the SHRM-SCP certification.
