Coal industry hit new low in 2018
Despite President Donald Trump’s interest in reviving the coal industry, employment in that sector hit an all-time low last year, Ohio Valley Resource reported. Trump had trimmed regulations in hopes of regaining employment at coal mines. The federal government reported 80,778 people worked for mine operators and contractors, about a thousand fewer than at the end of the Obama administration.
