‘Combat Hunger’ backers fund 208,000 Food Bank meals
Central Iowans helped a local radio station’s “Combat Hunger” program collect enough food and donations to cover 208,000 meals for clients of the Food Bank of Iowa. The 26th annual event received donations from listeners, schools, businesses, families and organizations. “Once again Central Iowa stepped up to help the most vulnerable,” said KSTZ Star 102.5 Brand Manager Scott Allen. “The recent election season left many wondering if people still cared about one another. The continued success of this event proves that they care as much as ever.” You can still donate through Sunday at Price Chopper or Cash Saver stores or online.
