The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines will host the next in its DonorConnect series on April 28 to learn more from the nonprofit and foundation community about what’s ahead in the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. The next session of “DonorConnect: Nonprofit Resilience as We Face the Future” will feature Angie Dethlets-Trettin, chief community impact officer for the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines; Izaah Knox, executive director of Urban Dreams; Dawn Martinez Oropeza, executive director of Al Exito; Renee Miller, chief community impact officer of United Way of Central Iowa; Suzanne Mineck, president of Mid-Iowa Foundation; and Tray Wade, president and CEO of EveryStep. The discussion is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Registration is free. The foundation describes the event as an opportunity to learn from nonprofit and foundation leaders as they share ways the nonprofit sector has adjusted and learned about the challenges of the past year in order to fulfill their missions. The panel will also discuss how the Disaster Recovery Fund has invested in critical services in the community.
