D.M. Radio Group VP announces resignation
A lighthearted Bill Wells announced his resignation as vice president and general manager of Des Moines Radio Group, which will take effect Jan. 5.
“I’m on the George Bush plan,” he joked. “We’re both leaving office in the middle of January.” He said his last day on the job will be Jan. 16.
Wells said that after 11 years with the company, he has “done enough, and moving on,” and has a job interview lined up for 8 a.m. tomorrow morning for a sales position.
“I’ve been planning it for a while, but I couldn’t wait (any longer) to tell my staff,” he said.
As of now, Wells said the company does not have a replacement, but will probably find an interim general manager to fill his spot.
Wells said he plans to stay in the Des Moines area to stay close to family, but does not intend to remain in the radio industry.
