Business management consultant Deloitte announced it has appointed Chris Terhark as Des Moines marketplace leader, effective today, succeeding Rick Tiwald, who will retire on Friday after six years in the role. Terhark, currently audit and assurance managing director at Deloitte & Touche LLP, aims to continue leading the local audit and assurance business while advancing Deloitte’s growth, community, and strategic initiatives in the region. A 30-year veteran of the firm, Terhark brings extensive experience serving clients across energy, manufacturing, higher education and nonprofit sectors. She also holds leadership roles with the United Way of Central Iowa and several regional boards and committees. “It is a privilege to be named marketplace leader for the Des Moines marketplace, which has been my home since joining Deloitte 30 years ago,” Terhark said in a statement. “I am excited by the opportunity to serve our clients and the Des Moines community while continuing the outstanding work Deloitte accomplished under Rick’s steadfast leadership.”
