Presented by the Latino Center of Iowa, the day-long event will feature two acclaimed feature films — “American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez,” a Sundance Festival Favorite Award-winning documentary narrated by Edward James Olmos, and “A Poet (Un Poeta),” a Cannes Jury Prize-winning film by Colombian director Simón Mesa Soto. Alongside them, a six-film shorts program will explore themes of community, identity, immigration, health and resilience across Latino communities in the U.S. and Latin America.
