Teams of athletes and ambitious eaters will compete again this year in Devour Des Moines, a relay-style triathlon requiring each member to eat hot wings, breakfast burritos and sweet corn before racing.

Devour Des Moines debuted last year with 22 teams competing.

This year, organizers hope to attract 50 teams. Proceeds from The event will be donated to Des Moines’ Buy Fresh, Buy Local chapter. Cost for teams is $120 and the event starts and ends at El Bait Shop on Aug. 4. For more information, click here.
