Des Moines Area Community College will host former U.S. Ambassador Kenneth Quinn for two public talks on Oct. 30 as part of its War and the Human Experience Speaker Series. Quinn, a native Iowan and former president of the World Food Prize Foundation, will share insights from his six-decade career in international affairs, including his work aiding refugees in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Gaza. The sessions will be held at DMACC’s Urban Campus from 9:40 to 11:05 a.m. and at the Ankeny Campus from 12:50 to 2:10 p.m. The event aims to offer attendees a free opportunity to explore how global conflict shapes human lives and communities.
