Drake grad to lead Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin utility

186 wordsAll Latest News, Energy, Key Leadership ChangesAlliant Energy announced that David de Leon, president of Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin energy company, will retire from the company, effective July 1. As part of the planned transition, Becky Valcq, a graduate of Drake University, has been appointed to succeed de Leon as president of Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin energy company and to serve as vice president of energy delivery, effective Jan. 5. Valcq joined Alliant Energy in 2024 as assistant vice president of regulatory affairs. Most recently, she served as assistant vice president of regulatory affairs and data center services. Before joining Alliant, Valcq served as chair of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and led the state of Wisconsin’s Energy Office, Broadband Office and Office of Energy Innovation. In her new role, Valcq will have overall accountability for the company’s performance in the state. She will oversee Wisconsin-based operations while supporting customer growth. She will also lead operations support and economic development efforts across both Iowa and Wisconsin. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and Spanish from Drake University and a juris doctor degree from Marquette University Law School.
