Sue Mattison |
Drake University has selected a Wisconsin university administrator with deep Iowa ties to be its next provost. Sue Mattison, dean of the College of Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay since 2011, was chosen following a recommendation by a search committee. Her appointment will take effect in the summer of 2016. Mattison will oversee Drake’s academic division, as well as Cowles Library, the Office of Student Life and other related university operations. She will take a leadership role in major university initiatives, including STEM@DRAKE, which involves more than $50 million in construction and renovation projects and the launch of six new academic programs. Prior to joining the administration at UW-Green Bay, Mattison was dean of academic affairs at the University of Northern Iowa, where she had worked for 21 years. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UNI and a doctorate from the University of Iowa.
