Drake students launch digital publication
Drake University journalism students on Thursday launched Urban Plains, an all-digital lifestyle magazine intended to promote the Midwest. Its digital format, which allows readers to consume videos, slideshows and audio clips on their mobile phones and laptop computers, is reflective of efforts by Drake journalism school faculty members to push emerging media as a precursor to careers in magazines, newspapers and other media outlets.
