DuPont posts record $253M loss
DuPont Co., in the middle of heavy layoffs in preparation for a proposed merger with Dow Chemical Co., posted a record $253 million loss in the fourth quarter,the News Journal in Delaware reported. All six business units had sales losses. The Delaware-based chemical company lost 29 cents per share, compared with a gain of 74 cents a year earlier. This was DuPont’s first quarterly loss since 2008.
