Dwolla acquired by NMI

106 wordsAll Latest News, Banking and Finance, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipDes Moines-based payment services provider Dwolla has been acquired by NMI, a global leader in embedded payments infrastructure headquartered in Schaumburg, Ill., the companies announced Tuesday. According to a news release, the acquisition brings Dwolla’s technology integrates further payment acceptance, orchestration and money movement capabilities into NMI’s white-labeled, embedded payments platform. The acquisition creates a combined business that processes close to $700 billion in annual transaction volume. NMI will continue to support Dwolla’s existing customers and partners as it integrates Dwolla’s capabilities into the NMI platform, the release said. Ben Milne co-founded Dwolla in 2008 with Shane Neuerburg, who left the company in 2012.
