Elections director Williams retires
State Elections Director Dawn Williams plans to retire after 30 year in elections work in Iowa, effective at the end of today. Secretary of State Paul Paul gave Williams the National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Award as a tribute to her work. Williams was inducted into the Election Center’s Hall of Fame, which now has 14 members. Williams joined Pate’s office in 2015 after working in the Marshall County Auditor’s Office from 1988 to 2014, including stints as election director, county auditor and county recorder.
