EMC announces leadership changes

EMC Insurance Group Inc. has named Mick Lovell as executive vice president of operations, effective Jan. 2. He will take over the responsibilities of Kevin Hovick, who is retiring. Lovell, currently executive vice president for corporate development, has been with EMC more than 14 years and has 13 years of previous commercial underwriting and marketing management experience. Also effective Jan. 2, Scott Jean will become EMC’s executive vice president of finance and strategy. He joined EMC as an actuary in 1991 and was promoted to vice president and chief actuary in 2009 and executive vice president in 2015. “I am pleased we have two strong, experienced leaders ready to step into these new positions, and confident the appointment of Mick and Scott to their respective executive vice president roles will drive forward our corporate strategy and plans for continued profitable growth,” CEO Bruce Kelley said in a release.
