Facebook still favored by Iowans on social media, Blue Compass reports
A case study initiated by marketing and web development firm Blue Compass found that Iowans across age demographics still prefer Facebook, despite national trends showing a downturn in the site’s use. Forty-three percent of Iowans polled reported Facebook is still their favorite social media platform; 52 percent of Iowans also say they are spending the most time on Facebook. That seems to match Iowans’ spending habits on social media, the survey reported, as 47 percent felt most comfortable making purchases on Facebook, followed by 23 percent feeling most comfortable buying through Pinterest. The survey’s release comes at a turbulent time for Facebook, as users consider permanently leaving the site after national media reported the firm Cambridge Analytica misused user data from as many as 50 million profiles.
