The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and KCCI television launched a tornado smartphone app to give Iowans real-time weather tracking tools, radar, tornado tracking and safety checklists.

The KCCI Tornadoes App is the first in Central Iowa to include real-time weather watches, warnings, radar, satellite and rainfall.

The Tornadoes App also includes a mobile website to help families prepare and recover, in the event of severe weather. Information includes tools and checklists that can help users plan ahead and be prepared.

The Tornadoes App is currently available for the iPhone and iPad. An Android-compatible version is coming soon.
