The Iowa Department of Administrative Services officially is jumping on the food truck bandwagon. The department announced this week a new pilot program that will allow mobile food vendors to set up shop in the parking lot north of the Lucas Building daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. No vendors are guaranteed to be present at any time, and the spots are available to vendors on a first-come, first-served basis. The pilot program will kick off July 13 and run through Oct. 31. Upon conclusion of the pilot project, the DAS will evaluate the initiative.
