Gamble named Hubbell Realty’s president, CEO

Gamble, a lifelong Iowan, joined Hubbell Realty in 1994. For 18 years, Gamble was managing director of CBRE|Hubbell Commercial where he led office, retail, industrial and multifamily teams. He has had other leadership roles in the company including as executive vice president in which he provided strategic oversight for 16 business units including property management, development, construction, homebuilding and asset management.
In recent years, Gamble has been responsible for setting companywide strategy, aligning operational performance with long-term growth goals, and ensuring consistency in culture, financial discipline, and customer experience across Hubbell’s diverse portfolio.
Gamble’s recent promotion follows being named president and chief operating officer in 2025.
“Hubbell, our associates, and the community are in good hands with Kyle,” said Tollakson, in a news release. “His extensive market experience, balanced leadership, and deep understanding of the Iowa and Midwest real estate markets position him well to guide the company’s next chapter.”
Tollakson retired on March 27. He worked for Hubbell Realty for 42 years and was CEO the past 22 years. Tollakson oversaw several notable projects that changed the landscape of Des Moines such as Kaleidoscope at The Hub and Hub Tower, Riverpoint Business Park, Lakeview Medical Park, Bridge District and Gray’s Station.
Hubbell Realty’s footprint now includes Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. It has 16 divisions focused on development, construction, homebuilding and property management. The company, headquartered in West Des Moines, has nearly 500 employees.
The company will celebrate 170 years of business on April 21.
