It narrowed by a paltry one cent. Women who worked full-time last year earned 78.6 cents on the dollar compared with men, according to data released Wednesday by the U.S. Census Bureau, up from 77.6 cents on the dollar in 2013. In 2014, the median earnings of women who worked full time, year-round ($39,621 per year) was 21 percent less than what men earned ($50,383 per year), but researchers say that’s not statistically significant. But the number of men and women working full time, year-round with earnings increased by 1.2 million and 1.6 million, respectively, between 2013 and 2014, suggesting a move from part- to full-time work.
