Robert von Wolffradt has been appointed by Gov. Terry Branstad to serve as the state’s chief information officer. Wolffradt, 55, most recently held the same position for the state of Wyoming, where he installed the first cloud email system of any state in the nation. Wolffradt has a master’s degree in computer resources and information management from Webster University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland. “Robert is exactly the right person to lead our efforts to improve state government’s efficiency and effectiveness through technology,” Branstad said in a release. “Robert’s qualifications are second-to-none, and Iowa is fortunate to have such a forward-thinking talent in this pivotal position.”
