Grand View University has received a $110,492 grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust to modernize science learning and research facilities in Elings Hall. The funding will support laboratory and chemical preparation space renovations and the installation of a generator to safeguard research during power outages. The project, expected to be completed in summer 2026, will expand lab capacity, improve safety and enhance research opportunities for roughly 200 students annually across biology and chemistry programs. University officials said the project marks the first phase of a larger renovation plan aimed at improving accessibility and ensuring state-of-the-art learning environments for students.
