Grimes opening new public safety center Thursday

90 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawThe city of Grimes and the Johnston Grimes Metropolitan Fire District will host a grand opening for the new Grimes Public Safety Center on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The 16,500-square-foot facility, located at 2001 SW Sixth St., includes four bays and meeting space for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, which provides law enforcement for Grimes. The event will feature a ceremonial cutting of an old fire hose, a swearing-in of new officers, and public building tours. Parking will be available in the northwest lot and along nearby streets.
