GuideOne Insurance announced that company Chairman, President and CEO Jim Wallace has decided to retire by the end of 2017. Wallace, whose career in insurance has spanned more than 40 years, joined GuideOne in 2001 during a time of significant financial uncertainty for the company, said Lynn Horak, GuideOne’s lead director. “Over the subsequent years, Jim restored the company’s financial well-being and strengthened its position in its niche markets, and today, GuideOne is one of the leading insurers of houses of worship,” Horak said in a release. Wallace is a past chair of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Property Casualty Insurance Association of America, and currently serves on the boards and executive committees of Drake University and the Des Moines Art Center. Before joining GuideOne, he was president and CEO National Travelers Life Co.
