GuideOne Mutual Insurance Co. has named Bernard Hengesbaugh, chief operating officer of the American Medical Association, to its board of directors. Hengesbaugh was with CNA Financial Corp. for nearly 24 years and served as chairman of that company’s board from 2002 to 2004. He has also held board positions with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., The Joint Commission and Adler Planetarium in Chicago. West Des Moines-based GuideOne, one of the nation’s largest insurers of churches, is licensed to do business in all 50 states and markets its products and services through nearly 1,600 independent and career agents.
