A new Hampton Inn & Suites is heading to Urbandale.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a site plan for a four-story hotel to be constructed at 8741 Plum Drive.

The building will have a 1,500-square-foot meeting room and 124 rooms, of which 38 will be suites.

When completed, the hotel will contain 76,216 square feet. The Urbandale City Council has scheduled its final discussion about the project for Nov. 6.
