Iowa’s Healthiest State Initiative has launched an effort to assist Iowa-based communities and nonprofit organizations as they plan health-based funding requests. The goal of the new service is to provide organizations, including cities, with input from multiple funding sources simultaneously. Through the use of the online portal, organizations can submit brief information about the project and receive simultaneous input from multiple philanthropies that could strengthen the project or concept for future funding. The six statewide organizations providing the support are Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, Iowa Council of Foundations, Mercy Foundation, Susan G. Komen Greater Iowa Affiliate, Telligen Community Initiative and the Wellmark Foundation.
