Heart of America Group, a Midwest hospitality and real estate development company, has appointed Shane Netherton as vice president and chief financial officer based in the company’s operations support center in Des Moines. Netherton brings over 19 years of finance and accounting experience and joins from Bernau Capital Partners, where he held a senior leadership position overseeing investments across retail, real estate, manufacturing and banking sectors. “Shane is only the third CFO in our 48-year history, which tells you how seriously we take this role,” founder and CEO Mike Whalen said in a prepared statement. “I’m monster excited to have him join the team.
