The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Government Policy Committee is making a push today to keep one of its top legislative priorities alive as the session begins to wind down. The GPC emailed Partnership members this morning seeking support for a move to add the Renewable Chemical Production Tax Credit bill (HF 656) as an amendment to the catchall “standings” bill (SF 510). According to the Partnership, the House is considering adding the tax credit, but without the refundability provision, which would significantly weaken the measure as an economic development incentive. The House earlier passed the tax credit bill with the refundability provision, by a vote of 84-9. Read an article about the tax credit provision on BusinessRecord.com.
