A Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh store and Smokey Row coffee shop are planned at 3605 S.E. Gateway Drive in Grimes, city documents show. The City Council on Tuesday approved a site plan for a 6,600-square-foot building. Fuel pumps are also planned on the site, as are about 50 parking spaces. The nearly 9-acre site is on the northwest corner of Iowa Highway 141 ad Southeast 37th Street. The three parcels on which the convenience store and coffee shop are planned are owned by Collective Investment Management Ltd., whose president is listed as John Gillotti. Collective Investment Management has owned the ground, valued at $10,960, since 1992, Polk County assessor records show.
