A rezoning request for a new Hy-Vee Inc. supermarket in Beaverdale and an urban renewal area plan for the former Rice elementary school property were both approved by the Des Moines City Council at its meeting on Nov. 12 -- Updated on Nov. 20 at 10:05 a.m.

A rezoning request for a new Hy-Vee Inc. supermarket in Beaverdale and an urban renewal area plan for the former Rice elementary school property were both approved by the Des Moines City Council at its meeting on Nov. 12.

The rezoning request still requires two more readings.
